In 2000, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation partnered with AB Volvo in its truck and bus business to establish an in-house company, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Company. In 2001, the alliance partner was changed to DaimlerChrysler (the present Daimler Trucks). Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation became an independent company in 2003.
